Clive Barker's bizarre and gripping plot has been skilfully adapted into an explosive psycho-drama. A terrifying evil demon has been unleashed, half myth, half reality, its power lies in peoples tendency to drive themselves mad with fear. The great grandaddy of them all: this is where it all began when a feckless group of holidaying teenagers fall victim to a sinister plot device, one by one..... terribly dated but it still has it's charms for those of us who appreciate the golden age of slasher movies. find out more...

An indie thriller so dark and dangerously involving that the subtitles are completely unobtrusive. An inoffensive middle-class family set off to their secluded lakeside holiday home for a restful retreat. However the arrival of Peter and Paul puts paid to that as the pair embark on a truly chilling campaign of terror, intermittently turning to camera to consult the viewer as to what should happen next, cleverly implicating their audience in the unfolding horror. Eat your heart out David Lynch! This movie has it all - sex, mutilation, religion, obsession, revenge and a circus which makes Archaos look like a branch of the Young Conservatives. The plot defies description, suffice to say it is perversely funny, grotesquely bizarre and definitely not family viewing. find out more...

Taking its lead from the slasher films of the 70s and 80s, Switchblade Romance follows the desperate struggle for survival that two friends, Marie and Alex, face after a psychokiller attacks the isolated rural home of Alex's parents, leaving a trail of blood and death in his wake. With nods to classics such as Bill Lustig's Maniac, Tobe Hooper's Texas Chainsaw Massacre and John Carpenter's Halloween, Switchblade Romance is played without laughs but with plenty of scares, the acting is well above find out more...

One of the first horror movies, about a hypnotist who uses a somnambulist to do his murders, and a landmark in the history of cinema. The dark shadows, crazy angles and doom laden atmosphere of German Expressionism and the film's extraordinary use of painted light have rarely been copied, and its influence, on film noir in particular, is indisputable. find out more...
